Moses Kwame Ohene is a Development Practitioner and Project Manager. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Development Studies and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors in Social Work and Psychology from the University of Ghana (UG), Accra. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Project Management from the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM-UK) as well as certificates in several short courses.
Moses has since 2002 acquired good working knowledge and experience in public administration and local governance through active work with relevant public and local government institutions. He has been involved in project management in both rural and urban communities over a period of 24 years and was instrumental in the succesful implementation of the Ghana Poverty Reduction Project I and II (GPRP I & II), Urban Poverty Reduction Project (UPRP) all funded by the African Development Bank and the Integrated Rural Development Project (IRDP I & II) funded by the OPEC Fund for International Development and Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA)
He also successfully facilitated the organization and delivery of over 70 one-week capacity building training workshops for over 1,200 small scale enterprise operators in seven regions of Ghana under the UPRP within 3 months to meet project-end deadline. He has facilitated several workshops particularly for adult learners both literates and illiterates across several regions of Ghana and has developed good communication skills in English, Ewe, Ga, Twi and Dangme . Moses is a traditional leader under the stool name Togbe Demadetadza I
Before his appointment as the Administrator of the E-Waste Management Fund, Anthony Akwetea-Mensah was the Executive Director of Joratec Company Limited in charge of Business development. Before deciding to go into fulltime management of their business (with a sibling), Tony was the CEO of Premium Realty, a real estate company which was in the development and building of various houses and buildings/structures for the whole range of clients in and out of the country. Prior to joining Premium Realty, he was the Managing Director of McOttley Money Lending, where he was responsible for the general growth of the business. Before that he was the General Manager at ACIC Limited, an environmental reclamation company, where he was responsible for design and implementation of the company’s strategic direction and success.
Tony has over 25 years of experience in diverse fields including construction, telecommunication, financial sector, and mining. With an academic background as an engineer, he started his career as a mine surveyor at Satellite Goldfield Limited (SGL). He later moved to Standard Chartered Bank as a Sales Manager in charge of SME banking and secured lending, where he was responsible for developing business and sale strategy for the bank. He also joined Intercontinental Bank (now Access Bank Ghana) as the Business Office Manager in charge of evaluating and analyzing individual and SME business proposals, evaluating the feasibility of new business opportunities and coordinating strategies for the marketing team of the bank.
Tony holds an MBA in Accounting from the Bowling Green State University in Ohio (USA) and an MSc in Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Harburg-Hamburg, in Germany. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geodetic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
Mrs. Esi Nana Nerquaye-Tetteh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (1992) and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Technology from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London (2001) in the United Kingdom. She is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers.
Mrs Nerquaye-Tetteh has extensive knowledge and experience in environmental management, environmental assessment administration, pollution prevention, minimisation and control, resource use efficiency/cleaner production technologies, life cycle assessment, compliance promotion, environmental quality monitoring and management, environmental auditing and inspections, as well as drafting of environmental guidelines, standards and regulations
Throughout her carrier at the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), Mrs Nerquaye-Tetteh has held various positions including Director of Environmental Quality and Laboratory Services Directorate, Head of department for three (3) different departments i.e., the Ozone Office, Environmental Quality Department and Manufacturing Industries Department. She is currently the Ag. Deputy Chief Executive Officer responsible for Technical Services at the EPA.
She has attended and participated in numerous local and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and training programmes to enhance her knowledge and expertise in various environmental fields. She has also led/organized workshops, seminars and training programmes to build/enhance the capacity of stakeholders on environmental management.
Some of her notable achievements throughout her career include spearheading initiatives that enhance environmental and public health protection in Ghana; initiated, coordinated and/or directed various projects and programmes aimed at protecting the environment, provided technical expertise for the drafting of various EPA legislations for strengthening environmental protection in Ghana and led the development and implementation of strategic plans, guidelines, and programmes for advancing the Authority’s mission and vision among others.
She is a dedicated Public Servant and an Environmental Expert, who is driven by a commitment to protect Ghana’s environment, promote sustainable development and safeguard public well-being. Her expertise in environmental management, coupled with her leadership capabilities make her a valuable asset in sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Mr. Kweku Quansah holds a Masters degree in Environmental Management and Policy and product of the then University of Science and Technology(UST), Ghana Institute of Managemnt and Public Administration (GIMPA) and University of Cape Coast (UCC). He is a Founding Fellow of West African Postgraduate College of Environmental Health (WAPCEH) and currently the Secretary General/ Registrar of the Ghana Chapter of the college.
He has over three decades of working experience in Environmental Health and Sanitation within both Urban and Rural Sub Sectors. He has worked in different capacities at the Community, District, Regional and National Levels across three Ministries namely Health, Local Government and Rural Development, Sanitation and Water Resources and presently the Head of Environmental Health and Management at the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs. Mr. Quansah has positively influenced a number of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH) sector Policies and Strategic Direction in Ghana and Sierra Leone. His relevant experiences include Community Mobilisation, Social Behaviour Change Communication, Strategy and Policy development, Law Enforcement and Gender and Inclusion both in Ghana and outside Ghana. He has also been involved in the training of National, Regional and District Environmental Health Staff, Media, Teachers, Water and Sanitation Management Teams, NGOs and other community-based organisations in wide range of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene disciplines. He is a good Moderator, Facilitator, Teacher, Writer, Staff Coach and Mentor and has passion for grooming young professionals to take up leadership roles. He also has experience in development of Manuals and Guidelines in the area of Environmental Health and Sanitation with fairly good working knowledge in Information Technology. His interests and expertise also include Water and Sanitation in Emergencies and distasters, Climate change, Water Safety, Hygiene and general project and programme management. His hobbies include reading and gardening.
